GLS holds Honoring of New Visayanian Lawyers

THE Gullas Law School (GLS) held the 2024 Honoring of the Newly Admitted Visayanian Lawyers last Saturday, March 9.

A total of 45 new Visayanian lawyers were given certificates, recognizing their achievement in passing the 2024 BAR Exams earlier this year.

The welcome remarks was given by GLS Dean Atty. Joseph Rhandi Torregosa.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anna Lou Cabuenas represented the University and gave the congratulatory message.

"If sir Dodong [Gullas] was here, he would be the proudest," Dr. Cabuenas stated as she reminisced the efforts put by the late VP Acad to GLS.

Prior to the awarding, a ceremonial partnership signing of the Gullas Institute of Legal Aid Services (GILAS) and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) - Cebu commenced.

Two of the celebrants gave out their testimonial words of excellence.

Atty. Emerson Arceo stated, "I did not ask Him (God) for the things I want but instead thanked Him for the things I need."

Atty. Khenny Marie Ponce heartily uttered, "I am filled with gratitude as GLS pushed me to the limit. It (review) was really draining but it all paid off."

"It was a struggle... but I was constantly reminded of why I do it. It was the 'Why'. It always seems impossible until it's done," she added.

Ending the program, GLS Associate Dean Atty. Darling Chyrmyth Wagas-Estorgio thanked the LEX Circle officers, admin, sponsors, faculty and staff, and the GILAS Director for making the ceremony possible and for being there for the new lawyers.
