The outstanding Visayanians from various fields shared the limelight with pride and joy in their hearts during the University of the Visayas Quality Awards Day 2024 on Tuesday, May 21, at the Inday Teresing Auditorium of UV-Main Campus on Colon Street, Cebu City.

Now on its third year, the annual program aims to recognize the exemplary achievements of the faculty, non-teaching employees, students, and other stakeholders who have demonstrated excellent performance and distinct contributions towards the attainment of UV's mission and vision.

The special occasion was graced by the top university officials headed by UV President Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo Jr., Vice Chairman Joselito "Jiji" F. Gullas, and Treasurer Dr. Leopold Gullas Lucero.

"I am honored to express the gratitude of the University of the Visayas and the Gullas family to all our awardees for the career milestones you have accomplished. "I know you work so hard for this and you deserve all the spotlight and accolades. You have truly set a good example, a true inspiration for everyone at the university," Gullas furthered. "As we bask in this special moment, I wish you well as we continue to strive for excellence and actively contribute to a more resilient future of our school anchored on our shared vision of making the Visayanians the best community as it can be, for and with others."

Among those recognized were the programs whose students significantly surpassed national passing rates in board examinations, propelling UV to becoming the Top Performing School in Central Visayas with their excellent performance.

The workforce behind the school securing a Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) accreditation Level 1 and above as well as the Junior High School Programs that have received formal recognition from the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) were also honored.
