UV JCMT Organizes Actual Stock Trading Seminar

THE University of the Visayas Junior Capital Market Traders (JCMY) held the first of their two-day Actual Stock Trading Seminar on April 23, 2024, at the Inday Teresing Auditorium, UV-Main Campus.
The seminar was conducted and designed for students to be equipped with necessary skills and knowledge in navigating the complexities in market trading.
In her welcome address, Vice president for Finance and Quality Management Services (QMS) and CBA Dean Dr. Rosemarie Cruz-Español emphasized the importance of the seminar, "Let's dive into a day, filled with insights, explorations, and excitements in uncovering the mystery of stock market."
"Get your feet wet, calculate the risks, and be ready to get rich," she added.
For his part, University President Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo Jr. delivered an inspirational message while engaging in an interactive discussion wherein he accentuated the mission and learning outcomes regarding the seminar.
He then left a quote from an American businessman, investor, and philanthropist Warren Buffett, "In the world of business, the people who are most successful are the people who love what they are doing."
Mr. Reynaldo Nograles together with Mr. Leo Quinitio served as the resource speakers during the program, who shared their invaluable insights regarding stock market investments strategies.
Present were Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anna Lou C. Cabuenas, Vice President for Administration Dr. Elmer Ocaba, faculty members, and staff.
Moreover, the seminar was attended by students from various participating departments namely: College of Business Administration (CBA) College of Education (COED), College of Allied Health and Sciences (CAHS), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture (CETA), College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE).
