3 COEd students to do internship in Thailand

AT least three (3) students from the College of Education (COED) will render their international internship in Thailand as the University of the Visayas has inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Beaconhouse Yamsaard School and Junior Achievement Foundation Philippines.

From among the 40 applicants nationwide, incoming fourth year Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) major in Science students Ramil Gaurano, Jr., Fella Tehanee Sejas, and Micah Jirah Mendoza were chosen after a rigorous selection process.

From the initial applications, demonstration teaching and interviews, the three students stood out among the 15 finalists.

In an interview with The Visayanian Publication, the three students shared their expectations and hopes in their upcoming international internship.

Gaurano expressed his desire to observe and learn different teaching strategies in this international internship program to further improve his teaching skills.

He also wanted to make new friends, observe different culture, and experience professional development and personal growth.

For her part, Sejas wished to broaden her understanding of teaching from a different perspective which she can use in her future teaching career.

Meanwhile, Mendoza also echoed her expectation to be immersed to a different educational systen and to learn global education.

The three students also expressed their excitement as this will be their first travel experience outside the country.

Present in the MOA signing were Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anna Lou C. Cabuenas, COEd Dean Dr. Aileen C. Costas, COEd program coordinators and students, Mrs. Apiluck Yaemsaard, Academic Director of Beaconhouse Yamsaard School, Mr. Krishna Alejandrino, Executive Director of Junior Achievement Foundation Philippines, Ms. Paula Patrice Dela Cruz, National Project Manager, and Nikolai Quetua Marketing, Program Specialist of the JAFP.
