UV Launches Sports Clinic Series for Satellite Campus Athletes

Student-athletes from the University of the Visayas (UV) satellite campuses are getting hands-on coaching from UV’s varsity players in a new sports clinic series at the UV Minglanilla Campus. The first clinics covered volleyball and basketball.
Members of the UV Men’s Volleyball Varsity Team trained the volleyball players. For basketball, Assistant Coach Emerson Reyes of the UV Under-15 Baby Lancers and varsity player Clint Paglinawan led a clinic on skills training and set plays.
The clinics were also supported by UV BPED majors, who assisted in facilitating the training sessions.
UV Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anna Lou Cabuenas and College of Education (COED) Dean Dr. Aileen Costas spearheaded the initiative, which aims to strengthen UV’s basketball and volleyball programs. The series is expected to become a year-round activity under UV’s community extension services.
