UV Joins Cebu City Graduate Scholarship Program

The University of the Visayas (UV) has expanded its support for professional development in the education sector through a new partnership that will provide graduate scholarship opportunities for public school teachers and school heads in Cebu City.
The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Cebu City Government, led by Mayor Nestor Archival, the Department of Education–Division of Cebu City, and participating higher education institutions for the Master's and Doctoral Degrees Scholarship Program. Under the agreement, UV secured 100 scholarship slots for eligible public school teachers and school heads pursuing master's and doctoral degrees.
The scholarship program seeks to strengthen the academic qualifications, professional competencies, and leadership capacities of public school educators by expanding access to graduate education. The initiative also supports the continuing improvement of basic education in Cebu City through collaborative efforts among government, the education sector, and higher education institutions.
Representing the University of the Visayas during the MOA signing was Communication and Public Affairs Director Dr. Ma. Crispy B. Velasco. As one of the program's partner institutions, UV reaffirmed its commitment to providing accessible graduate education and supporting initiatives that advance educational excellence and community development.
