MARINA Evaluates UV Maritime Programs

The University of the Visayas (UV) welcomed representatives from the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) for a Program Monitoring and Evaluation Visit covering its Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) programs.
The evaluation formed part of MARINA's quality assurance process to assess the University's compliance with national standards for maritime education and training. The visit reviewed the academic programs, facilities, and institutional support provided to maritime students.
During the visit, UV presented its initiatives in strengthening maritime education and ensuring that its BSMT and BSMarE programs continue to meet industry requirements while preparing graduates for careers in the global maritime sector.
The monitoring and evaluation reaffirmed the University's commitment to academic excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in delivering quality maritime education.
