The University of the Visayas–Gullas Law School (UV-GLS) held its graduation ceremony for Batch KASILAK on Wednesday, July 1, at the Inday Teresing Auditorium, marking the completion of the graduates' legal education.
The ceremony recognized the academic accomplishments of the graduating class after years of legal studies and professional training. The graduates completed the academic requirements of the Juris Doctor program and now prepare for the next stage of their journey toward admission to the legal profession.
University officials who attended the ceremony were UV President Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo Jr., Executive Board Treasurer Dr. Leopold Gullas Lucero, Corporate Secretary Atty. Jarred Alexander Gullas, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anna Lou Cabuenas, UV-Gullas Law School Dean Atty. Joseph Randi Torregosa, and Associate Dean Atty. Darling Chyrmyth Wagas-Estorgio.
Delivering the commencement address was Daanbantayan Mayor Hon. Atty. Gilbert Arrabis Jr., a member of the UV-Gullas Law School Batch 2005. In his message, Arrabis reminded the graduates that the legal profession is founded on public service rather than personal gain.
"Our profession is a mission. Our profession is not simply all about fame and fortune. In fact, the legal profession is not a money making venture. Our profession is not just for ourselves, it is meant to be shared to others through service," Arrabis said.
He encouraged the graduates to use their legal knowledge and skills in serving others and contributing to society as they begin their professional careers.
The graduation formally concluded the students' legal education at UV-Gullas Law School as they prepare for the Bar Examinations and pursue careers in the legal profession.
Padayon, Visayanians!
