UV-CBA Conducts International Mobility Program in Thailand

The University of the Visayas–College of Business Administration (UV-CBA) successfully concluded its International Education Trip (Short-Term International Mobility and Global Immersion Program) in Bangkok and Pattaya, Thailand, held from June 19 to 22, 2026.

The four-day international mobility program provided Tourism and Hospitality Management students and faculty with valuable global exposure through academic engagements, industry immersion, cultural exchange activities, and institutional visits designed to broaden their professional and intercultural competencies.

One of the program's major highlights was the academic learning sessions and workshops at Dhurakij Pundit University, where participants engaged with international educators and gained insights into global tourism, hospitality, and aviation practices. The delegation also visited leading tourism and hospitality establishments in Thailand, allowing students to observe industry operations and best practices firsthand.

Program Coordinator Joshua S. Gequillo Jr. said international mobility initiatives play a vital role in preparing students for the evolving demands of the global tourism and hospitality industry.

“As future tourism and hospitality professionals, our students must be equipped with global perspectives, cultural understanding, and industry competencies that will enable them to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world,” Gequillo said.

The successful completion of the program reflects UV-CBA's commitment to internationalization by providing students with meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom while strengthening global academic and industry partnerships.

The College also expressed its appreciation to UV Vice President for Finance and QMS and CBA Dean Dr. Rosemarie Cruz-Español, the UV International Affairs Department, BRYDGE Alliance Linkages Inc., Ecoscape Travel and Tours, Dream Destination Holiday, Dhurakij Pundit University, and its academic and industry partners in Thailand for their invaluable support in making the international mobility program a success.
