The University of the Visayas – Gullas Law School (GLS) faculty members successfully completed the intensive Mediation Certification Course conducted by the Philippine Institute of Dispute Resolution and Arbitration (PIDRA) from May 25 to 28, 2026.
Among the participants were GLS Dean Joseph Randi Torregosa, Associate Dean Darling Chyrmyth Wagas-Estorgio, and Atty. Jovelyn May Dimco, who underwent the rigorous four-day training focused on advanced conflict resolution methodologies and practical interest-based mediation skills.
The certification course provided participants with comprehensive training in alternative dispute resolution, equipping them with practical tools and strategies essential in modern legal practice and client engagement.
Beyond professional development, the training also marks a strategic advancement for Gullas Law School as the attendees emphasized their commitment to integrating mediation principles into GLS courses and the Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP).
The planned curricular enhancement aims to further enrich student preparedness by bridging academic theory with the evolving realities of legal practice, particularly in the field of alternative dispute resolution and client-centered legal services.
