UV Maritime Students Explore Career Paths in Career Day 2026

The University of the Visayas – Career Placement Services and Alumni Relations Office, in partnership with the College of Maritime Education, successfully conducted Career Day 2026 on April 28 at the Inday Teresing Auditorium.
Anchored on the theme “Charting Your Maritime Future,” the event gathered maritime students seeking deeper understanding of career pathways, industry expectations, and global opportunities in the seafaring profession.
The highlight of the program was the talk delivered by Capt. Edsel L. Pepito, who shared his professional journey in the maritime industry and emphasized the importance of discipline, adaptability, and continuous learning in building a successful maritime career.
Through interactive discussions, students gained valuable insights into real-world challenges at sea, as well as the technical and personal competencies required in the global maritime industry.
The event concluded with strengthened awareness and motivation among students as they prepare for their future roles in international shipping and maritime service.
