UV-NROTC Pays Tribute To Sponsors, Parents

With a strong display of honor and gratitude, the University of the Visayas (UV) held its Presentation of Sponsors and Escorts and Tribute to Parents for Academic Year 2025–2026, recognizing the vital support system behind its cadets.
The ceremony took place on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the UV grounds, organized by the university’s 559th NROTC Unit, bringing together cadets, parents, sponsors, and university officials.
As part of the corps’ annual tradition, cadets were formally introduced alongside their chosen sponsors and escorts—individuals who symbolize inspiration and encouragement throughout their academic and military journey. The event also featured a tribute segment honoring parents for their role in instilling discipline, resilience, and commitment among the cadets.
Serving as Guest of Honor, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anna Lou C. Cabuenas highlighted the deeper meaning of leadership, urging students to embody integrity and accountability. She emphasized that the ceremony should serve as a pledge “to act with precision, decide with honor, and lead with courage,” noting that true leadership is measured not by rank, but by responsibility and moral strength.
The annual event reflects UV’s commitment to holistic student development, reinforcing values formation alongside military and academic training.
