UV Tourism Management Students Shine At ITF 2026

Energy and excitement filled the venue in Cebu City as Tourism Management students from the University of the Visayas stepped onto a competitive stage, proudly showcasing their skills and passion for the industry.


Fifteen Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) students from UV participated in the International Travel Festival (ITF) 2026 on Saturday, March 14, competing in various events alongside delegates from other institutions.

The students joined key competitions including the Poster Making Contest, Mr. and Ms. Tourism, Dance Palabas, Tour Guiding Contest, Essay Writing Contest, Quiz Bowl, and the Tour Packaging and Costing Contest. Their participation demonstrated creativity, industry knowledge, and strong communication skills, reflecting the quality of UV’s tourism education.

Among the highlights, Chan Joseph Dumon earned the title of Mr. Congeniality 2026 in the ITF Mr. and Ms. Tourism competition, while Aicelle Mei Basas secured the championship in the Essay Writing Contest. Their achievements brought pride and recognition to both the university and its BSTM program.

Neiah Niña Biera, a college instructor who accompanied the students, expressed her pride in their performance. She shared that seeing them represent UV on stage was a heartwarming moment, noting how they carried themselves with confidence and embodied the values of their program.

The participation of UV BSTM students in ITF 2026 underscored their commitment to excellence and readiness to contribute to the evolving tourism industry.
