UV Honors Inday Pining On 121st Birth Anniversary

A quiet sense of reverence filled the UV Gallery as the University of the Visayas community gathered to honor a woman whose legacy continues to shape the institution’s identity.
The University of the Visayas (UV) honored Lady Josefina “Inday Pining” Gullas on Friday, March 13, during a commemorative program marking her 121st birth anniversary, attended by university officials, students, staff, and members of the Gullas family.
The ceremony paid tribute to Inday Pining’s enduring contributions and influence, recognizing her role in fostering the values and traditions upheld by the university. Attendees reflected on her lasting impact, emphasizing how her legacy continues to inspire generations within the UV community.
Members of the Gullas family were present, reaffirming their deep-rooted connection to the institution. Among those in attendance were UV Executive Board Vice Chairman Joselito “Jiji” Gullas, Board Treasurer Dr. Leopold Gullas Lucero, Assistant Vice President for Finance and Administration Jose Miguel “JMi” Gullas, and Assistant Vice President for Student Services and HR Deputy Director Vince Lucero.
