Graduating students gathered at the Inday Teresing Auditorium as the University of the Visayas strengthened its commitment to protecting students from illegal recruitment and human trafficking.
The University of the Visayas (UV) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Regional Office VII signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on March 6, 2025, at the Inday Teresing Auditorium, aiming to safeguard students from illegal recruitment and ensure safe migration practices.
The MOA was signed by UV Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anna Lou C. Cabuenas and DMW Regional Director Jhoaden G. Lucero, formalizing the partnership to educate students on labor rights and responsible overseas employment.
Immediately after the signing, a Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS) was conducted for graduating students, equipping them with practical knowledge to recognize illegal recruitment, understand labor rights, and prepare for safe career opportunities abroad.
This collaboration reflects UV’s dedication to not only academic excellence but also the welfare and safety of its students as they transition to the workforce.
Padayon, Visayanians!
