UV Celebrates Green Lancers’ CESAFI Four-Peat

Cheers, school pride, and the glow of a ceremonial bonfire filled the University of the Visayas campus as students, athletes, and university leaders gathered to celebrate another milestone in UV’s sporting history.
The University of the Visayas (UV) held a bonfire celebration honoring the UV Green Lancers for winning their fourth consecutive championship in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) tournament, recognizing the team’s historic achievement and the accomplishments of other UV athletes.
The celebration was attended by key university officials, including UV President Dr. Conrado Iñigo, Executive Board Vice President Mr. Joselito Gullas, Executive Treasurer Dr. Leopold Gullas Lucero, AVP for Finance Jose Miguel Gullas, and AVP for Student Affairs Services Mr. Vince Lucero.
During the program, the university also recognized several UV athletes and teams who earned medals in various CESAFI sporting events. Awardees came from sports such as karate, scrabble, and tennis, highlighting the institution’s strong presence across multiple competitions.
The UV Baby Green Lancers were likewise acknowledged for their achievements in the junior division, while the UV Filipiniana Dance Group received recognition for their outstanding performances.
The bonfire celebration underscored the university’s continued commitment to supporting student-athletes and strengthening school spirit through excellence in sports and the arts.
