UV Launches TESDA-Approved AI, Cybersecurity, and Hospitality Diploma Programs

Students, educators, and academic leaders gathered at the Inday Teresing Auditorium as the University of the Visayas introduced new academic offerings designed to prepare learners for rapidly evolving global industries.
The University of the Visayas (UV) officially launched its TESDA-approved diploma programs in Applied Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Hospitality and Management on February 23, 2026, at the Inday Teresing Auditorium in Cebu City, expanding opportunities for students to gain industry-aligned technical education.
The newly introduced Three-Year PQF Level 5 Diploma programs aim to equip students with specialized knowledge and practical skills that meet current workforce demands in both technology and hospitality sectors.
The initiative is implemented in partnership with Eastwest International Educational Specialists, Inc., strengthening collaboration between the university and industry-oriented education providers.
Leading the launch were UV President Dr. Conrado Iñigo, Vice President for Finance and QMS Dr. Rosemarie Cruz-Español, and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anna Lou Cabuenas, together with Eastwest President and CEO Dr. Dennis Franco Layug.
High school students from invited schools, along with UV students, deans, and department directors, attended the event, highlighting the university’s effort to promote accessible and future-ready education for aspiring professionals.
The launch reflects UV’s continued commitment to expanding academic pathways that prepare students with relevant skills for emerging industries and global career opportunities.
