Students and staff at the University of the Visayas practiced safety and readiness during a campus-wide fire drill, reinforcing the importance of emergency preparedness.
The University of the Visayas (UV), in collaboration with the Parian Fire Station, conducted a fire drill on March 10, 2026, at the university grounds, focusing on building evacuation and proper fire extinguisher use to enhance safety for students and staff.
The exercise was part of the university’s participation in Fire Prevention Month, observed every March when fire incidents tend to rise during the dry season.
Officials stressed that regular emergency drills help reduce panic and ensure a quick, orderly response during real emergencies, highlighting the value of preparedness in protecting lives and property.
Through this simulation, UV demonstrated its commitment to campus safety, disaster preparedness, and proactive risk management for the university community.
Padayon, Visayanians!
