UV Welcomes Academic Year 2026–2027 Through Panagtimbaya 2026

Loud cheers, rhythmic performances, and vibrant school spirit filled the University Quadrangle as Visayanians gathered for Panagtimbaya 2026, marking the official start of Academic Year 2026–2027.
The University of the Visayas officially launched its annual Panagtimbaya on Aug. 7, 2026, bringing together new and returning students, faculty members, and university leaders for a campus-wide welcome celebration organized by the Student Affairs Services Center. The event highlighted unity, school pride, and community as students from different colleges participated in the opening program.
Panagtimbaya, which means “to greet” or “to welcome,” featured spirited cheer performances from the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering, Technology and Architecture, College of Allied Health Sciences, College of Education, College of Maritime Education, College of Business Administration, Gullas Law School, and College of Criminal Justice Education. The program also showcased performances by the UV Filipiniana Dance Group, Visayanian Dance Crew, and the UV Drum and Bugle Corps.
The ceremony concluded with the singing of the university’s alma mater, The Green and White March, reaffirming the shared identity and belonging of the Visayanian community as it embarks on a new academic year.
