UV Pardo Netter given recognition at 38th SAC-SMB Cebu Sports Awards

A young but promising netter from the University of the Visayas (UV)-Pardo Campus is among those given special citations during the 38th Sportswriters Association of Cebu-San Miguel Beer (SAC-SMB) Cebu Sports Awards on Sunday, May 26, at The Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.
The 16-year-old Aaron Kevin Tabura was honored for performing remarkably well in the field of lawn tennis in the past two years.
The Grade 10 student of UV-Pardo won back-to-back gold medals in the Cebu City Olympics and emerged as champion of the Palawan Pawnshop National Championship for two consecutive years in 2022 and 2023.
A silver medalist in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI), Tabura also reigned supreme in the 40th Tuanku Syed Putra (Perlis-Milo) International Junior Tennis Championships in Perlis, Malaysia two years ago.
Last year, the grandson of UV's decorated tennis coach Fritz Tabura lifted another first-place trophy via the Lapu-Lapu Fiesta Juniors Cup National Tennis Championships in Lapu-Lapu City.
