The University of the Visayas (UV) recognized the accomplishments of its academic and non-academic units, faculty, non-teaching personnel, and students during the Quality Awards 2026 held on September 16 at the UV HRM Hall.
The annual awards recognized initiatives and practices that contribute to the University’s quality standards and continuous improvement efforts, highlighting members of the UV community who help strengthen services, improve processes, and support quality education and institutional development.
A notable recognition during the event was the naming of Harry Juntilla of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) as Most Outstanding Staff Awardee. Juntilla, who serves as an Administrative Secretary and Instructor, said the recognition reminded him of the importance of purposeful service and giving one’s best in the workplace.
“This award reminds me that when we work with purpose, serve with heart, and give our best in everything we do, our efforts can make a difference.”
Also held during the event was the annual State of the University of the Visayas Address (SUVA), delivered by University President Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo Jr. The address presented the University’s key developments, accomplishments, and milestones over the past year, as well as its current priorities and direction for strengthening programs, institutional operations, and services for the Visayanian community.
