The University of the Visayas (UV), through its Student Affairs Services Center (SASC), officially launched the University Teen Center on June 8, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to student welfare and youth development.
The newly established Teen Center, located within the SASC Office, serves as a safe, inclusive, and youth-friendly space designed to encourage meaningful peer interaction, promote mental health awareness and education, and provide students with opportunities for personal growth through various developmental programs and activities.
The initiative was made possible through the support and partnership of the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region VII, further strengthening collaborative efforts to advance youth empowerment and well-being among students.
With the establishment of the facility, UV becomes the first higher education institution in Central Visayas to operate a university-based Teen Center, setting a benchmark for student-centered services in the region.
More than a physical venue, the UV Teen Center is envisioned as a BRAVE Space—Building Respect, Accountability, Voice, and Empowerment—where students can freely connect, learn, and develop in an environment that nurtures both academic success and personal well-being.
The project is spearheaded by Ms. Jo-Ann Francine V. Maga, a Graduate School of Business Administration student at UV, as part of her master's degree project. The initiative reflects her commitment to creating meaningful and sustainable programs that contribute to student development and empowerment.
UV continues to strengthen its student support initiatives by providing spaces and programs that promote holistic development, ensuring that Visayanians have access to resources that help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Padayon, Visayanians!
