UV, PCA Sign Partnership For Mobile Health Services

The University of the Visayas (UV) has officially entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), marking UV as the first partner institution in the country for the implementation of mobile health services for coconut farmers and their families.

The partnership supports the government’s Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), which aims to deliver accessible healthcare services to coconut farmers, particularly those living in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

UV President Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo Jr. expressed gratitude for the partnership, sharing that he is honored that UV became the PCA’s first institutional partner in the Philippines. He emphasized that the collaboration reflects the university’s continuing commitment to community service, public health, and initiatives that directly benefit underserved communities.

The agreement was formally sealed through the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement by PCA Administrator Dexter R. Buted and UV President Dr. Conrado E. Iñigo Jr. Witnessing the ceremony were University of the Visayas Communication and Public Affairs Department Director Dr. Ma. Crispy B. Velasco, PCA Project Development Officer Ms. Rhea Ocay, and members of the PCA delegation.

The collaboration further strengthens partnerships between government agencies and academic institutions in advancing healthcare accessibility and community-based development programs.
