UV Holds Job Fair for Graduating Students and Alumni

The University of the Visayas (UV) opened its doors to career opportunities for the graduating Class of 2025 and alumni during a job fair held on Friday, May 16, at the UV Gymnasium.

Leading the opening ceremony were UV Chairman of the Executive Board Dr. Gerald Anthony Gullas, University President Dr. Conrado Iñigo Jr., Director for Career Placement Services & Alumni Relations Center and ETEEAP Dr. Rosanna Gullas, and AVP for Finance and Administration Hon. Eduardo Gullas III. They were joined by university directors and department heads in support of the event.

Aligned with UV’s mission to produce globally competitive and job-ready graduates, the job fair served as a platform to connect students and alumni with potential employers. In her welcome remarks, Dr. Rosanna Gullas highlighted the fair’s broader purpose.

“This job fair is more than just a venue for employment,” she said. “It is a gateway for our graduates to discover their potential, align their passions with career paths, and begin their journey as professionals. We are proud to produce job-ready Visayanians—competent, confident, and driven to make a difference.”

She also expressed appreciation to the faculty and staff for their role in preparing students for life beyond the university.

The event featured 15 partner employers from various industries including technology, food services, shipping, and banking—all actively seeking qualified candidates.

Among the attendees was Crismae Mabini, a fourth-year BS Tourism Management student, who shared her readiness to join the workforce. She credited her training and mentorship at UV for equipping her with the skills and values needed in her career journey.

Niña Perez, an HR representative from a leading bank, expressed appreciation for UV’s diverse talent pool and said their company welcomes graduates from all fields. She described the job fair as a great opportunity to connect with fresh talent.

To further support a smooth transition into employment, UV will be releasing transcripts of records and diplomas during the graduation ceremony.
